Capitol declares war vs. tuberculosis; 200 nurses to be hired

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government is preparing for an all out war against tuberculosis as Governor Lilia Pineda ordered the hiring of additional 200 hundred nurses.
Pineda said the nurses will be tasked to locate tuberculosis patients in all the barangays of the province.
“Mag hire tamu pung bayung nurses singkwenta balang distrito para akit tanala dening atin pang tuberculosis,” she added.
“They will work hand in hand with the barangay health workers (BHW) to finally address the increasing number of tuberculosis patients,” the governor explained
Pineda also wanted to train nurses and BHWs on sputum collection so that they could immediately identify the residents who are believed to be suffering with tuberculosis with the help of a medical technologist stationed in the capitol.
Earlier, Board Member Monina Laus, health committee chair, identified the towns and city with high tuberculosis incidence.
As per records, this includes the towns of Mabalacat, Magalang, Arayat and the City of San Fernando.
Meanwhile, a group of certified nurses in Candaba town welcomed the initiative of the provincial government.
“Makakatulong na tayo sa ating mga kababayan, magkakaroon pa ng trabaho ang mga tulad naming nurse na matagal nang humahanap ng pagkakataon na makapag trabaho,” Alexander Quiambao, a registered nurse stressed.

INC Unity Games 2012
The 2012 Unity Games is the second multi-sport and multi-district event and largest athletic competition to be hosted for members of the Iglesia ni Cristo.
This multi-district and multi-sport event was the brainchild of the Church’s Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, who conceived of it as a way of bringing together members of the Church in a friendly athletic competition. While sports can develop discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance, the Unity Games aims even higher: the fostering of the biblical teachings of brotherly love and unity among members of the Church of Christ.
